Applying to Dana Hall

The process of applying to Dana Hall consists of five steps.

Step 1: Research

Explore our Web site and gather information. Gain insight about our students and community by spending time reading their testimonials in the See Yourself section. Complete the Request Information form and an admission packet including a viewbook, an application, and other materials will be sent to you. If what you learn from your research seems exciting and interesting to you, then it’s time to move on to Step 2.

Step 2: Apply

Dana Hall's application deadline is February 1 for March 10 notification. After the February 1 deadline, interested students are encouraged to contact us to learn about possible openings. There are three simple ways to access an application:

1. Apply online. You can complete Part 1 of the application online and send the remainder of your application forms to the Admission Office. You will receive an e-mail confirming receipt of your application, along with instructions for submitting your application fee.

2. Complete the Request Information form and you will receive an admission packet, which includes our application. Send your completed forms along with the application fee to the Admission Office. Or…

3. Download all of the application forms from this site. Send your completed forms along with the application fee to the Admission Office.

Step 3: Visit and Interview

Experience Dana first-hand. Visiting our campus and meeting with a member of the Admission staff is the best way for you to learn more about the School and for us to learn more about you. If you have not made an appointment, please call the Admission Office to do so. Please note that an interview is required to complete your application. If a visit to campus is not possible, other arrangements can be made by contacting the Admission Office. Admission decisions are made only after all application materials are received and an interview is completed.

Step 4: Test

We require that all applicants for grades 6-10 take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) or the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) before February 1, 2009. Applicants for grade 11 may submit the SSAT, ISEE, PSAT or SAT results to meet the testing requirement. Students for whom English is not their first language are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Please note that the SLEP cannot substitute the requirement of the TOEFL. Register for these tests online by visiting the following sites: www.ssat.org, www.iseetest.org, www.toefl.org.

Step 5: Keep Researching

As the year progresses, we encourage you to attend our Admission events, see a Dana performance, or go to a Dana game. Continue to ask questions and soak up as much information as you can. We believe that all of this research will pay off in your search for a school that fits you and will allow you to make an informative decision come March.
