| Congdon Prize Scholarship |
The Congdon Prize is a merit scholarship awarded each year to two entering sophomore boarding students who are United States citizens living outside New England and who demonstrate exceptional academic and personal promise, a potential for leadership, and a responsibility to the community-at-large.The scholarship provides a $2,500 grant toward tuition for each year of the student's Dana Hall education. Should a student's family qualify for financial assistance based on demonstrated need, the prize could include an additional award of up to the full amount of the boarding tuition. Entering sophomore boarding students who wish to be considered for the Congdon Prize Scholarship are asked to submit an additional essay with their application for admission. The autobiographical essay of approximately 500 words should include special interests, challenges faced, and personal and academic strengths. The student essay should highlight how she will contribute to the Dana Hall community as a Congdon Prize Scholar. The essay should have as its heading “Congdon Scholarship,” with the student's signature at the end of the final page.
