Art Gallery Opens 2011-12 Season

The Dana Hall School Art Gallery kicks off its 2011-12 season with an exhibit by mixed media artist Courtney Jordan. Constraints & Constructs will run from September 13 through October 9. An opening reception will take place on Tuesday, September 13 from 5-7:30 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

In her artist statement Jordan says, “My mixed media paintings are rooted in the urban-industrial landscape. I am currently involved in the exploration of invented realities and imagined structures derived from surrounding infrastructure that is often ignored or unnoticed. Decay, collapse, growth, renewal, and the expansion and contraction of the urban-industrial landscape are merged into images that reflect the evolutionary possibility of the industrialized world.”CourtneyJordan_web
