Dana Hall Welcomes New Faculty and Staff

Ten new faculty and staff members have joined the Dana Hall community for the 2011-12 academic year.

Lauren Alverson joined Dana Hall at the end of May as the maternity leave replacement for Middle School Administrative Assistant Courtney Callahan. Lauren will continue in this position until November 1.

Tiffany Chao joins Dana as the Upper School Administrative Assistant and Registrar. Most recently Tiffany worked at BB&N as a Lower School Admissions Assistant, and at Fay School as a School Counselor.

Kevin Clemente will teach Upper School Math.  Previously, Kevin taught mathematics at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury, Conn. 

Sarah DePolo will teach Upper School Spanish. She has taught Spanish at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury, Conn., and The Newman School in Boston during the past 10 years.Fac_Staff_newjpg

Krista Falcone will teach English in the Upper School. For the past six years, Krista has taught English at Kent School in Connecticut.

Nia Hays joins Dana Hall as the new Assistant Director of the Upper School and also will teach in the Social Studies Department. Nia has taught history at Beaver Country Day School and Buckingham, Browne and Nichols School since 2002.

Bei Ju will serve as the maternity leave replacement for Mandarin instructor Dao Wu through November. Most recently she has taught at the Newton Chinese Language School.

Joanne O’Neill joins the Business Office as Student Bank Manager. Most recently, she worked at BearingPoint, Inc. as a Senior Financial Analyst in Corporate Accounting.

Liz Paushter will teach English in the Upper School. Liz began her teaching career with Teach for America in New York City, and also has taught English at The Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa, Florida and The University of Vermont. 

Sheila Serafino joined the Admissions Office as an Admission Associate in July. She is serving as a maternity leave replacement for Liz Connelly during the 2011-12 school year. Sheila recently graduated from Boston College where she worked in the Admissions Office.

Michael White, who served as the school’s Athletic Trainer last year while Janna Berger was on sabbatical, is returning to Dana Hall as a Middle School science teacher and part-time Athletic Trainer.
