International Assembly Entertains Dana Community

web.jpgOn Monday, April 14, the Dana Hall School community gathered to celebrate the culture, traditions, and history of its international students. The annual International Assembly gives international students a chance to provide their classmates and teachers with a fun, in-depth look at the countries they call home.

Students from Rwanda, Bermuda, and the United Kingdom shared fun-facts and photos from their countries. Girls from China, Taiwan, and Japan prepared a “Street Style and School Uniform” runway fashion show to showcase international trends. Natives of Nigeria, Thailand, and Korea read poetry, sang musical numbers, and performed traditional dances; girls from Hong Kong acted out a legendary tale of how their country got its name; and students from Latin American and Spain provided those assembled with a lively music video.

“This annual event is an opportunity for our international students to educate and entertain the Dana Hall community, and to help us learn about different countries and cultures,” said Sherri Geller, Dana Hall’s international student advisor. “The students worked for two full weekends on their performances and delighted the audience with their talents.”
