Scholastic Art Award Winners

Eight Dana Hall students stood out from thousands of entries as they received awards in the 2010 Massachusetts Scholastic Art Awards. Each piece of artwork was reviewed by a panel of arts professionals for originality, technical skill, and emergence of personal vision or voice.

Dana Hall’s Gold Key winners were M. Apstein ’10 in Digital Arts, S. Barrera ’11 in Drawing, C. Edgar ’12 in Photography and H. Kim ’10 in Drawing. Silver Key awards went to C. Campion ’10, I. Farrington ’10, K. Higgons ’12, and M. Matsumura ’10. Honorable mentions were given to M. Grip ’12 and P. Knisley ’10.

Gold Key winners will move on to the regional competition in New York City in March. An award ceremony will be held for Gold and Silver Key recipients on Sunday, February 14, and their winning pieces are on display at the State Transportation Building at 10 Park Plaza in Boston through March 19.
