With thousands of entries to this year's competition, 11 Dana Hall students stood out as they received honors in the 2009 Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards. Each piece of artwork was reviewed by a panel of arts professionals for originality, technical skill, and emergence of personal vision or voice. Out of 5,200 pieces of art work, 335 Gold Keys were awarded for the state of Mass. C. Campion '10 and I. Farrington '10 were Dana Hall's two Gold Key winners. Both students received the honor for their digital photography. Silver Key awards went to Q. Chen '11, A. Kafil '10, A. Kozol '10, J. Pepper '09 and N. Wan '09. Honorable mentions went to C. Hoyt '09, S. Jung '10, J. Pepper '09, M. Richard '09 and Y. Zhu '09. An award ceremony will be held for Gold and Silver Key recipients on Sunday, February 8. The winning pieces are on display in an exhibit at the State Transportation Building at 10 Park Plaza in Boston from February 5-27. The works of the 300 artists who earned Gold Keys will be included in the national exhibition to be held in New York City in June. |
