Spring Varsity Sports Awards and Wrap Up

Dana Hall’s 2012 spring athletic season came to a close with teams and individuals being recognized for their accomplishments. 

For the first time since 1999, the Dana Hall Varsity Lacrosse Team placed first in the Eastern Independent League (EIL) with a league record of 9-0 and an overall record of 12-3. L. Maloney ’14 and C. Murtha ’13 were named New England Prep School Women’s Lacrosse All-Stars as well as EIL All-League along with M. Hoar ’13, D. Muggeridge ’12 and M. Maloney ’12. All-League Honorable Mentions were given to E. Dumont ’14 and J. Green ’12. C. Skillman ’13 earned the Offensive Player Award; A. Nectow ’13 received Defensive Player honors; Most Improved Player went to T. Jacoby ’14 and the Dana Dragon Award was given to S. Dumont ’13.

The Varsity Softball team placed third in the EIL with a league record of 5-3. A. Feldman ’12, K. Fitzgerald ’12 and K. Mullaney ’12 were recognized with EIL All-League honors. EIL All-League Honorable Mentions went to J. Barrack ’14 and C. Lafferty ’13; Most Improved Player and Rookie of the Year was J. Novakoff ’14; Barrack was named Unsung Hero and M. Loomis ’12 was recognized as Comeback Player.

At the National Finals in Syracuse, N.Y., the Upper School Equestrian Team took home the Reserve Championship, placing second overall. Varsity Equestrian named F. Stufano ’14 its Most Valuable Player; Best All-Around was given to A. Suitor ’12 and S. Taft ’14 received Most Improved.

N. Barbieri ’15 and N. Heiland ’14 were recognized with the Most Improved Players award for the Varsity Tennis team that finished 4-7 overall; M. Dong ’14 received Most Dedication honors; and Best Match Record went to S. Wolf ’14.

Varsity Golf Rookie of the Year went to Y. Ro ’13; Most Valuable Player was awarded to M. Ceppi ’14; and S. Mirchandani ’13 received the Coaches’ Award. The team’s record was 2-6.
