| Students Triumph at Bridge-Building Competition |
|
This spring, Dana Hall students have been busy with a variety of S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) related activities. During the second week in May, five Dana students attended "Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day" at Boston University, sponsored by Judith Nitsch of Nitsch Engineering. One hundred students participated in the event that included a model bridge building competition. The building materials each team could use were marshmallows, spaghetti, Twizzler bites and gumdrops. Points were awarded for height, length and strength of the bridge, and Dana Hall's was the longest and tallest of all the constructed bridges. Out of 20 teams made up of five students each, Dana's team came in first place and received a prize that includes a personal tour of the Tobin Bridge. Congratulations to team members O. Anton '12, A. Carlin '12, J. Green '12, A. Joukowsky '11 and H. Pierce '11. |
