The Class of 2012 Bids Farewell to Dana Hall

Dressed in white with crowns of flowers in their hair, the 90 members of the Class of 2012 said goodbye to Dana Hall on Sunday, June 3 as they took part in the School’s 131st Commencement Exercises.

Despite intermittent rain showers and cool temperatures, the seniors followed tradition and made a wish by throwing a penny into The Pond before entering the tent filled with family, friends, faculty, staff and students.

After the procession, Head of School Caroline Erisman opened the ceremony by welcoming students and their guests. K. Zack ’12 delivered the Senior Address. The Commencement Address came courtesy of Lynn Margherio, Founder and CEO of Cradles to Crayons, a nonprofit organization that provides disadvantaged children with essential items. Margherio praised the strong partnership between Dana Hall and Cradles to Crayons and encouraged the members of the Class of 2012 to make philanthropy and service a part of their lives.

Erisman, Chair of the Dana Hall Board of Trustees Rebecca Ramussen Grunwald ’73 and Director of the Upper School Robert Mather presented the graduates with their diplomas. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the Dana Hall Alma Mater.

Congratulations and good luck to the Class of 2012.
