"The New, Weird America" at the Art Gallery

The Dana Hall School Art Gallery will feature the exhibit titled “The New, Weird America” from February 8 through March 12, 2010. A closing reception is planned for Tuesday, March 9 from 5-7:30 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

The show features work from four artists who have created original pieces that reflect the world in which we live. Inspired by pop culture, Neil Bender will showcase an installation as well as collages and paintings; Sean McCarthy will display graphite portraits of demons and biomorphic abstractions; Brent Fogt will present his large scale ink drawings made of tens of thousands of tiny circles; and Matt Krawcheck’s art tells a story through hand-made projector machines, diagrams and mixed media scrolls.

A catalog of the exhibit, which includes essays, poems, and photography as well as t-shirts are available at the Art Gallery. The online version of the catalog can be found here. Please click here to view an article about this exhibit, and here to view photos of the gallery.
