Varsity Sports Awards

Dana Hall’s Varsity athletic teams completed an exciting fall season with individual athletes being honored for their hard work and dedication. 

FH_webIt was a banner year for Varsity Field Hockey as they competed in the semifinals of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEP-SAC) Tournament. After clinching first place in the EIL (Eastern Independent League) with an undefeated league record of 10-0-1, the team also placed first in the EIL Tournament defeating Portsmouth Abbey in the first round 5-0, and Pingree in the second round with a final score of 1-0. With an overall record of 15-2-1, head coach Edie Mabrey was honored with EIL Coach of the Year.

EIL Most Valuable Player was given to K. Mullaney ’12 who also shared the team Most Valuable Player award with D. Muggeridge ’12. Muggeridge also was awarded EIL All-League honors along with A. Corless ’13, E. Palandjian ’13, and C. Vega ’12. All-League Honorable Mentions were given to C. Ames ’13, S. Shalom ’12, and C. Skillman ’12. Rookie of the Year went to N. Barbieri ’14, while Vega was awarded the Dana Hall Dragon Award.

CC_webVarsity Cross Country ended their season with an overall record of 6-6-0 and placed fourth in the EIL. All-League honors went to team Most Valuable Player M. Chisholm ’13. M. Wadsworth ’12 was recognized with an EIL Honorable Mention, and shared the Leadership Award with I. Brown ’12, and S. Gaffney ’13 received the Coaches’ Award.

Varsity Soccer team members S. Dumont ’13 and K. Zack ’12 received EIL All-League honors and All-League Honorable Mention went to M. Loomis ’12. M. Sanderson ’12 was awarded Most Improved Player; the Sportsmanship Award went to M. Hoar ’13; and the Best Overall Athlete Award was presented to L. Maloney ’14.

Varsity Volleyball placed first in the EIL and EIL Tournament, with a league record of 6-1 and overall record of 10-6. All-League awards went to Most Valuable Player recipient M. Grip ’12, R. Quinn ’13 and K. van Amson ’12. Honorable Mentions were given to A. Lynch ’13 and J. Sheffels ’14; T. Houston ’12 was the recipient of the Coaches’ Leadership Award; and the Most Improved Player honor was given to M. Grip ’15.
