Performance and The School of Music
Performance is an important part of the experience at The Dana Hall School of Music. We believe that sharing the music one is learning to make is an enriching experience for both the student and School of Music community. Performing helps teachers and students set goals and achieve them! We strive to create performance opportunities that nurture each student so that performing becomes something natural and enjoyable. There are two student recital opportunities per month; one on a Tuesday evening (usually the second Tuesday) and one on the weekend (usually the third Saturday). Performance is not required but is gently encouraged. Additionally, most faculty hold studio recitals either in the School of Music’s intimate recital space or at Beveridge Hall towards the end of each semester.

Artist Performance Series
These concerts, featuring the School of Music’s highly regarded faculty and their artist friends, are offered to the general public throughout the year. Admission is free. Diverse and creative programs highlight the School’s outstanding faculty and provide a valuable cultural resource to the community. Performances take place on Dana Hall’s campus in beautiful Beveridge Hall. General seating is available on a first-come-basis.

Workshops and Master Classes
New this year, the School of Music is proud to sponsor a series of workshops and master classes that are free of charge for registered School of Music students and families. Workshops will cover a variety of topics including auditioning, musicianship, instrument care and much more. Master classes offer a unique opportunity to peek in at the learning process. Faculty and guests will work with selected students in a public forum.
