On the stage

There’s always something happening on a Dana Hall stage. Girls have the freedom to try a new instrument, master ballet, sing with gospel choir, or explore the great plays and musicals. And there’s plenty of room backstage or in the audience, too.

Freedom to take a risk

The theatre department creates a setting that allows you to expand upon your talent as an actress. You quickly learn that acting is all about experimenting, and sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. I've learned to take risks and make decisions about my acting without worrying what others may think.

Steps to self confidence

I have learned so much from the dance instructors at Dana -- but I emerged as a dancer because of the guidance and creativity of the girls I dance with. Their support means so much more than simply learning a step and making it look good. I have built up a confidence in my dancing that cannot be broken down; I will probably pursue dance as a career.
