Riding Center Horsemanship Camp

During the summer, Dana Hall School Riding Center instructors offer an intensive and fun-filled camp.

Campers develop their skills in riding, horse care, and stable management. The program focuses on hunt-seat equitation and emphasizes safety, learning control, correct position, and on developing confidence at beginning through advanced levels. Each rider experiences a classroom without boundaries that inspires discipline, responsibility and teamwork. Hands on activities and demonstrations enable children to explore all aspects of horsemanship and discover the secrets of the equine mind. Riders have the opportunity to participate in both a gymkhana and a camp horse show during their time at camp.

HorsemanshipThe Dana Hall School Riding Center Camp offers three two-week sessions (day camp only). Each session is open to riders whose ability ranges from beginner through advanced and each session is limited to 12 riders.

The Dana Hall Beginner Horsemanship Camp offers one one-week session.  This will be a small group of no more than six campers between the ages of 8 and 13 so there can be more one on one time in the ring.

At the beginning of the summer, a one-week session will be held for all levels of riding with four beginner spots and eight campers total. It will run from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and will include two riding lessons per day as well as horsemanship activities in and out of the barn.
