The Upper School

Picture your Dana Hall graduation. You're surrounded by young women who feel almost like family. Bright, confident, funny, brave and passionately interested in the world, they are your classmates and your inspiration.

Some will be your friends for life. You have worked together, encouraged each other, watched each other grow - and in the process, each of you has found the best version of yourself.

Choose your challenge

The Upper School offers intellectual challenge and personal growth to a diverse community of 336 girls from dozens of towns around New England and every corner of the US and the world.

Beyond your rigorous core requirements, you can choose from a remarkably wide range of electives, from marine science to Middle Eastern studies to Mandarin Chinese, from art history to ceramics. And because we assign you to classes based on what you've already learned, you advance at your own pace and the subjects always feel fresh. With our small classes and intense focus on vital skills like writing, you will leave Dana Hall well-prepared for the demands of college life.

The hallmarks of a Dana education

The signature of your Dana education will be the academic focus, opportunities for leadership and lasting friendships that spring from our proven approach to all-girls education. As a boarding school and a day school, we feature the best qualities of both: a school rich with tradition, truly grounded in its neighborhood and close by a lively city; a warm, supportive community of students with a fascinating range of backgrounds; and a campus that's vibrantly alive long after the final bell.
