Our Campus

Dana Hall School is located 12 miles from Boston in the suburb of Wellesley, a safe and welcoming community of approximately 30,000 people.

The only girls’ boarding school in the metropolitan area, our 55-acre campus is surrounded by residential neighborhoods and is only a five-minute walk to the center of town and a 30-minute train ride to Boston. We truly have the best of both worlds.

Our neighborhood

Dana Hall’s campus is just a five-minute walk to the center of Wellesley, a college town offering great bookstores, cafes, pizza shops, shopping and Truly’s (our spot for ice cream!), as well as libraries, pharmacies, and the post office. Upper School students have the independence to walk to town when they are free during the week or weekends (with parent/guardian permission).

Wellesley is home to exceptional colleges that enrich the town's culture: Wellesley College and Babson College are right in Wellesley, and Olin College of Engineering is just over the town line in Needham.

Dana Hall students can also hop on a train for a 30-minute ride to Boston for city life. The list of things to do there is endless: visit the Museum of Fine Arts or one of a dozen museums, go ice skating in Boston Common, take a college tour (there are more than 50 in the greater Boston metro area), visit different cultural centers like Chinatown, or just grab a meal or a treat with your friends (Boston is famous for New England clam chowder!). Our Upper School Student Affairs office also coordinates a variety of Weekend Activities that both day and boarding students can enjoy; many of these trips include traveling to Boston and to points all around New England. Dana Hall provides transportation and supervision for all Dana-sponsored weekend activities.
