Our application deadline was January 15th. We are no longer accepting new applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Please contact our office after April 10th to see if there are any additional openings.
Dana Hall School uses Ravenna to collect inquiries and manage our application process. After completing the Online Inquiry Form, you will be added to the Admission Office mailing list and we will be in touch with more information about Dana Hall, upcoming Admission events, and application process reminders.
When you are ready to apply through Ravenna, please note that the system will recognize the email you provide under the Personal Information section of the inquiry form. This should be a parent email and one that you will have access to throughout the application process.
Ravenna is our web-based application system. Through this program, you will be able to apply and track the status of your application online.
If you did not create your account during the inquiry process, make sure to create your account using a parent email address that you will have access to throughout the admission season, as this will be your primary email contact with our School.
CREATE AN ACCOUNT:
1. Visit Ravenna and select "Create an Account." 2. Enter a parent/guardian name, parent email address, and password. 3. Ravenna will send you a verification email to your account. Click on the verification link in the email from Ravenna. 4. Follow the link in your email to complete your Ravenna profile. Please confirm that your pre-populated information is correct and/or make any changes or additions necessary and our database will be automatically updated. 5. Go to the School Directory in Ravenna, find Dana Hall in the Boston Area schools, and click Apply to begin the application process. You will then be able to view a detailed outline of the application steps and requirements, and begin submitting application materials.
All application materials should be completed and/or submitted online through Ravenna by the January 15 deadline. Once you set up your account, our online application will then walk you through the steps for submitting all of the required forms and for requesting required recommendations and transcripts.
A complete application consists of the following:
To be completed by the applicant and her family:
Preliminary Application for Admission
Application Fee ($50 for domestic applicants; $100 for international applicants)
To be requested by the applicant and her family:

Math Recommendation From Current Teacher (grade 6-12 applicants)

Every applicant is required to interview with a member of the Admission staff, and applicants must complete the interview process prior to February 1. BEFORE contacting the Admission office to schedule an interview (on campus or by Skype), applicants must first submit a preliminary application in Ravenna and pay the application fee. We do not anticipate having openings in grades 10-12 for the 2020-21 school year. Therefore, on-campus interviews will be limited to students applying to grade 9.
For more info about what to expect for the interview: Visit Dana
Before attending your interview, make sure you log in to your Ravenna-Hub account; find Dana Hall in the School Directory, and either click on Explore or Apply to indicate your interest in Dana Hall.
Applicants who interview by February 1 and submit their application by January 15 will receive decision notification on March 10. Late applicants will be considered on a rolling admission basis, depending on space availability.
All Middle School applicants (grades 5-8) must sign up to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) and all Upper School applicants (grades 9-12) must register to take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT).
Students for whom English is not their first language are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) in addition to the SSAT. Please note that the SLEP cannot substitute the requirement of the TOEFL.

"Dana offers many great opportunities including a trip to South Africa every other year. I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d be visiting South Africa, let alone with some of my closest friends. The trip enabled us to interact with real South Africans as they experienced their real lives, an opportunity I could never have had as a tourist."
