Ravenna is our web-based application system. Once you set up your account, you will have access to a detailed list of steps and requirements, and you will be able to submit materials, register for events, track your application status, and view decisions.
Make sure to create your account using a parent email address that you will have access to throughout the admission season, as this will be your primary email contact with our School.
CREATE AN ACCOUNT:
1. Go to Ravenna and select "Create an Account," or if you already set up an account during the inquiry process, login using your unique credentials and skip to step 5. 2. Enter a parent/guardian name, parent email address, and password. 3. Ravenna will send you a verification email to your account. Click on the verification link in the email from Ravenna. 4. Follow the link in your email to complete your Ravenna profile. Please confirm that your pre-populated information is correct and/or make any changes or additions necessary and our database will be automatically updated. 5. Click the green "Apply" button to begin the application process. You will then be able to view a detailed outline of the application steps and requirements, and begin submitting application materials.
All application materials should be completed and/or submitted online through Ravenna by the January 15 deadline. Once you set up your account, our online application will then walk you through the steps for submitting all of the required forms and for requesting required recommendations and transcripts.
A complete application consists of the following:
To be completed by the applicant and her family:
Preliminary Application for Admission
Application Fee ($100 for international applicants)
To be requested by the applicant and her family:
English Recommendation From Current Teacher
Math Recommendation From Current Teacher
Transcripts For Previous and Current Year
Personal and Special Interest Recommendations (optional)
Every applicant is required to interview with a member of the Admission staff, and applicants must complete the interview process prior to February 1. BEFORE contacting the Admission office to schedule an interview, applicants must first submit a preliminary application in Ravenna and pay the application fee. We do not anticipate having openings in grades 10-12 for the 2021-22 school year.
For more info about what to expect for the interview: Visit Dana
Applicants who interview by February 1 and submit their application by January 15 will receive decision notification on March 10.
All Upper School applicants (grades 9-12) must register to take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT).
Students for whom English is not their first language are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) in addition to the SSAT. Please note that the SLEP cannot substitute the requirement of the TOEFL.
Register for these tests online by visiting the following sites:
Please designate Dana Hall School as a recipient of the official score by using the following testing codes: SSAT-2728, ISEE-222275, TOEFL-7507.
While standardized testing remains a requirement of the Dana Hall application process, we will remain adaptive and flexible, understanding that the pandemic may create challenges for students to register and take standardized tests. Please reach out to us (781-489-1331 or email@example.com) if you have any questions or need assistance.
"Dana offers many great opportunities including a trip to South Africa every other year. I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d be visiting South Africa, let alone with some of my closest friends. The trip enabled us to interact with real South Africans as they experienced their real lives, an opportunity I could never have had as a tourist."
