She Sails Book Drive for Rosie’s Place: April 6 - 29
Now through April 29, Dana Hall is conducting a book drive to benefit Rosie's Place. As part of the mission She Sails, the School selects a charitable organization to support and raise awareness. For She Sails 2023, the Dana Hall community will support Rosie’s Place, a Boston community center and shelter providing wide-ranging support, education and outreach services to 12,000 women struggling with homelessness and poverty annually. On their website, you can learn more about Rosie’s Place, their mission, and the many services and programs provided to their guests.
Rosie’s Place has a large lending library in their dining room, and women and their children have always enjoyed reading a book during lunch or dinner or while waiting to receive the many services Rosie’s provides. They may also take books with them.
COVID-19 pandemic depleted their stock of books. If you are doing a bit of spring cleaning, please consider donating any gently used children’s or adult books to Rosie’s Place. Donations can be dropped off in Beveridge Hall between now and She Sails. Donations will also be accepted on the day of the event, April 29 as well.
While at She Sails, stop by the Rosie’s Place table. A representative from Rosie’s Place will be there to answer any questions. We will also assemble toiletry bags and make paper flower arrangements to decorate their dining room.
Please contact Alumnae Council President Lee Frechette '81, P16, 22, with questions.
