Students at all levels have an unparalleled number of opportunities to develop their musical skills. 

From the Middle School ukulele and keyboard ensembles, to the award-winning Chamber Singers, to private lessons through the Dana Hall School of Music, Dana Hall's robust music program provides students with many outlets for expression and growth.

School of Music

Dana Hall musicians know what it's like to own the stage. The School of Music is a source of tremendous creative energy and a renowned cultural resource in the local community. 

Dana Hall students, regardless of previous music experience, may enroll in private music lessons through the Dana Hall School of Music. Upper School students may take private lessons for credit. Instruction is offered on a wide variety of instruments and for voice, including piano, electric and acoustic guitar, electric bass, percussion and drums, jazz and pop voice, violin, viola, cello, harp, flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone and bassoon.

The School of Music also welcomes the local community for lessons and groups.

If you want to sing out, sing out!

Dana Hall has choral ensembles at every level: fifth and sixth grade chorus, seventh and eighth grade chorus and Upper School Chorus are large groups that sing a wide variety of musical styles from classical to musical theater, to spirituals to contemporary popular music to music from different cultures.

Students who possess fine vocal abilities and are committed to high performance standards can audition for the Chamber Singers, who have performed all over the world.
