Sarah Summers '98

Sarah Summers grew up in Southeast Asia and began her riding career at Arthayasa Stables in Indonesia. While a boarding student at the Dana Hall School, she became a student of Cookie DeSimone. She continued her education at Tufts University and captained the Tufts Equestrian Team her junior and senior years. After graduation, Summers returned to Dana Hall as an instructor and member of the barn staff and subsequently was promoted to Director of The Karen Stives '68 Equestrian Center. At the Karen Stives '68 Equestrian Center, Summers has coached under Cookie DeSimone, Olympic riders Greg Best and Bobby Costello, and world-class rider Candice King. In addition to teaching and coaching the Dana Hall Equestrian Team, she also coaches Dana Hall riders at their horse shows. Summers is committed to fostering a team environment where our students can emerge as strong riders and young women throughout their time at Dana Hall. 
 

Carly Corbacho

Carly Corbacho grew up down the street from Dana Hall and has been riding at Dana Hall since she was seven years old. She was a member of the Dana Hall Interscholastic team for seven years and also competed across the east coast on her own horses in both the hunters and equitation. Corbacho has been a ribbon winner at the Capital Challenge Horse Show, as well as the Washington International Horse Show. Corbacho graduated from Boston University's Questrom School of Business in 2015 with a degree in Marketing and Information Systems. At Boston University, Corbacho captained the equestrian team her junior and senior year, and in 2015, she finished reserve champion in the prestigious Cacchione Cup at the IHSA National Finals. Corbacho has been working as a full-time coach at Dana Hall since 2015. She has trained under the guidance of Cookie DeSimone, Olympic riders Greg Best and Bobby Costello, as well as world-class rider Candice King. In addition to teaching Dana Hall Equestrian students, Corbacho coaches students at their horse shows where she specializes in matching horses with their riders. 

Dani Corkill

Riding Instructor and Special Programs Coordinator

Dani Corkill is a lifelong horsewoman who joined the Dana Hall School team in 2021. She is an instructor and Coordinator of Special Programs, including the IEA Team and our summer academy and horsemanship programs.  Corkill has a wealth of experience in coaching both IEA and IHSA teams, including her most recent role as Head Coach of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Riding Team. She has coached numerous IEA and IHSA riders to national championships. Corkill grew up showing competitively in the hunter divisions throughout New England and has numerous tricolors to her name. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Corkill has a passion for and belief in the power of high-achieving all-girls institutions.

Christine Twohig

Christine Twohig is from Arlington, Mass. She began riding at the age of six and has been helping out in the barn ever since! She attended the Essex Agricultural School where she focused on equine studies and veterinary care. Prior to joining us, Twohig spent five years managing a show barn where she oversaw all aspects of care for 23 horses in addition to riding and teaching clients both at home and on the road. She brings with her a wealth of experience in both horse care management and instruction. Twohig is the coach of the AEL team.

Luisa Meharg grew up in Litchfield, Conn., riding with Lindsey Knight '98, who is a Dana Hall alumna. Meharg started riding at age 5 and she quickly developed a passion and love for the equine athlete and focused on horse care and management. After high school, Meharg took a gap year to manage Peter Leone's Farm, Lionshare in Greenwich, Conn. Meharg graduated from Sacred Heart University with a bachelors in Mathematics. She had been teaching and riding in Maryland for five years and has also groomed for the Canadian Olympic Team. Meharg also worked in the corporate world, as a national account manager where she also shared her time managing and grooming on the road with Team Dana Hall School.
