It’s Signing Day!

On Wednesday, November 8, Dana Hall School student-athlete A. Mather ’24 signed her National Letter of Intent to play Division I lacrosse for the Boston University Terriers.

Mather has a Dana Hall varsity career total of 131 goals and 33 assists, despite both her 8th and 9th grade seasons being cut short or modified due to the pandemic. She was named EIL All-League in 2022 and 2023, as well as All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention in 2022 and All-NEPSAC in 2023. Mather was honored as Dana Hall’s Player of the Year in 2023 and is a three-year co-captain of the Varsity Lacrosse team.

Varsity Lacrosse Coach Janet Sullivan said, “Avery is a talented player in all phases of the game of lacrosse. Her desire to compete at the highest level is second to none; she is a true competitor who wants the ball in critical situations. In a 50-plus minute game, you will see her run the field, goal line to goal line, transitioning the ball from defense to the attack, and when needed, going straight to goal to score. Dana Hall Lacrosse is fortunate to have her on our team and setting a standard for others to follow.”

Director of Athletics, Health and Wellness Mike White said, “It’s great to be able to celebrate Avery’s athletic accomplishments. Her hard work and dedication are obvious in all that she does, and she has helped to elevate our programs during her time here. Avery is a consummate Dragon, and BU is adding a wonderful athlete and citizen to their program.”
