A Picture Perfect Performance

Two School of Music students, B. Miao ’25 and C. Zhu ’27, received high scores in the 2024 American Protégé Competition, which earned them the chance to perform at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall over Thanksgiving Break.

“It has been such an honor to perform at Carnegie,” Zhu said. “I am incredibly thankful to Dr. Huang, my wonderful piano teacher, for guiding me to this opportunity and helping me refine my playing skills. I am also grateful to the School of Music for always being incredibly supportive of my piano endeavors. And, of course, Dana Hall for being the place where I find the opportunities and confidence to pursue my hobbies to great heights.”

The International Piano and Strings Competition through American Protégé is open to students and adults of all nationalities and countries. This year, the organization attracted its largest number of applicants from 73 countries.
