The Upper School presents its spring musical, “Newsies,” on Friday, May 17, and Saturday, May 18, at 7:30 p.m., in Bardwell Auditorium. The performance is free and open to the public.
Set in turn-of-the-century New York City, “Newsies” is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged “newsies.” When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what’s right!
“We are thrilled to embark on the exhilarating journey of bringing this challenging production to life,” said Director of Theater Daniel Morris. “‘Newsies’ marks a collaborative venture between Dana Hall School and Belmont Hill School, showcasing a dynamic ensemble of 33 exceptional performers alongside talented student designers and a vibrant live band.”
Please note that Bardwell is not wheelchair accessible.
