Sister School Makes Its Bardwell Debut

Sister School Makes Its Bardwell Debut

The Upper School presents its spring musical, “Sister School,” on Friday, May 12, and Saturday, May 13, at 7:30 p.m., in Bardwell Auditorium. The performance is free and open to the public.

“Sister School” is an original composition with book, music and lyrics by Director of Choral Music David Coleman P22. The musical explores the world of an all-girls school whose time may just be up, and the girls who will sing their way into the hearts of all who have ever asked the question, “Is this the place for me?”

“It goes without saying that my 22 years at Dana Hall School, as well as my role as a parent of a Dana Hall student, informed my musical,” Coleman said. “I only ever imagined this show being produced on the Bardwell stage and it is a full circle moment — now after all of the delays with COVID-19, and with my daughter’s graduation in 2022 — that this is finally happening. I owe Performing Arts Department Head Devon Fitchett, Director of Theater Daniel Morris, Director of Technical Theater Doug Feinburg, and the students in the cast and crew a debt of gratitude that they have taken this script and brought it to life.  I’m excited to share it with the community, and hopefully other single-gender schools will find inspiration in it as well.”

Please note that Bardwell is not wheelchair accessible.
