Taking Their Robots on the Road

Taking Their Robots on the Road

On September 29, CyberDragons co-heads A. Xia ’26 and L. Zhao ’26 hosted a booth at the Cambridge Science Festival. They showcased a budget-friendly remote-controlled car with a pen attached that traced its path, creating “robo art” in the process. CyberDragons is a student-initiated club for Dana Hall Upper School students who are interested in exploring computer science and robotics topics outside of class.

“We stumbled upon the Cambridge Science Festival online and thought it would be a great opportunity to utilize our knowledge to provide people interested robotics the ability to play around with robots as well as information on how to build their own,” Xia said. “It was a great learning experience not only for the festival goers but also for us, because we had to figure out the different mechanisms of robot building during the process. Our goal was to show people some of the mechanics that go into robots as well as how much fun can come with building and playing with them. We’re hoping to participate in more activities such as this one in the future, seeing how successful and exciting this one was.”
