Three Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

Three Dana Hall seniors have been named semifinalists in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Competition. C. Churchill '23S. Shi '23 and S. Zhang '23 have an opportunity to continue in the competition for 7,250 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million.

High school juniors entered the competition by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which serves as an initial screen of program entrants. The semifinalists represent less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors and includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.

Amy Kumpel, director of the Upper School, said, “We are happy to celebrate our students' achievements and that they are being honored with this recognition of their academic performance.”
