Fencers on Top

The Varsity Fencing team has had a number of highlights at both the team and individual level this winter.

One Triumphant Team
Varsity Fencing closed out their regular season in February with three wins to finish with an undefeated record of 14-0. Next up, the team will compete in the Massachusetts State Championships on February 26.

Bringing Home the Gold
In late January, E. Lu ’25 competed as part of Team USA at the Riposta Cup saber competition in Bucharest, Romania, which brings together athletes from 22 countries. After more than seven hours of competition, Lu and her teammates took home the gold. She also placed 44th in the individual Cadet Women’s Saber event.

Mile High Fencing
For the second year in a row, fencers S. Bililies ’23 and Lu competed at the USA Fencing Junior Olympics competition, held February 17-20 in Denver. Lu placed 11th in the individual Cadet Women’s Saber event and her team placed 2nd in the Junior Team Women’s Saber event. Bililies competed in the Junior Women’s Saber event.
