Stephanie Walton Named Varsity Basketball Head Coach

Stephanie Walton has been named Dana Hall’s Varsity Basketball head coach. She brings 25 years of coaching experience at the travel, club and high school levels.

“I’m incredibly excited to join the Dana Hall community and lead the Varsity Basketball program because it brings together two things I’m deeply passionate about: the empowerment of young women and the transformative power of team sports,” Coach Walton said. “Dana Hall’s commitment to developing confident, capable leaders aligns perfectly with how I approach coaching. I’m looking forward to creating a culture where players feel supported to grow — on the court and off — and where we compete with heart, integrity and pride.”

While studying at Northern Arizona University, Coach Walton played Division I women’s basketball for the Lumberjacks. She’s served as assistant coach at Etiwanda High School, head girls varsity coach at United Christian Academy and head basketball trainer at FUNdamentally Sports. She’s coached for the AAU Blazers Basketball Club and for multiple town travel teams. Coach Walton was named Inland Empire SMAF Coach of the Year.

“My coaching philosophy is rooted in a simple belief: work hard, have fun and compete with purpose,” she said. “At the same time, my goals go beyond the scoreboard. I’m focused on building a program where players grow as athletes and as individuals — where they develop confidence, resilience, and leadership that lasts far beyond the season.”

“I believe that when we combine hard work, joy and a commitment to excellence, we don’t just become better players — we become better people.”

“Coach Walton’s philosophy and experience are so closely aligned with the Dana Hall mission that it feels like she's been here for a long time already,” said Director of Athletics, Health and Wellness Mike White. “When I connected with some of her former players, they spoke about the deep sense of connection, community, and culture that Coach Walton creates within her teams. I'm excited to see her build on the momentum already established within the team and to watch her continue to grow this program.”
