Dana Hall’s Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Team had the honor of hosting its Regional Finals on Saturday, February 10, at the Karen Stives ’68 Equestrian Center (KSEC).
“It was truly a community effort,” said Dani Corkill, riding instructor and special programs coordinator. “The show ran smoothly thanks to everyone’s hard work.”
The KSEC barn and maintenance staff worked long hours to spruce up the horses and the facility, Corkill said. During the show, they helped navigate trailer and spectator parking, and debuted their new recording system for the show livestream. More than 500 people watched the show via the livestream. There was also behind-the-scenes assistance from the Athletic Equestrian League (AEL) Team and parents.
Both Middle and Upper School teams ended the day victorious, with Middle School students E. Pouladdej ’28, N. Forman ’29, F. Lee ’30, C. McGary ’28 and J. Jin ’28 pulling out the win over seven other middle school teams to advance to Zone Finals at the end of March. Additional individual Zone qualifiers included A. Loughborough ’27, Pouladdej, Lee, S. Theophile ’25 and McGary.
“With the help and support from countless others, our team set the tone for horsemanship, sportsmanship and team camaraderie over the course of our 12-hour day,” Corkill said. “I could not be prouder of this group of tenacious young people.”
