Girls learning, leading, succeeding
myDANA
Dana girls are curious, collaborative, respectful and enthusiastic. They are leaders: leaders of clubs, activities, sport teams and more. They are also aware of the many types of leadership, understanding that a supporting role is just as important as taking the lead. They know that Dana Hall is a place where they can be themselves and are encouraged to be who they want to be. See what they have to say about about their school.

Favorite Dana Tradition

Senior Sophomore

My favorite Dana Hall tradition is Senior Sophomore. It is so great to have this big tradition happening within the first month of sophomore year, when we receive posters and loads of candy from our secret seniors. When the day of Senior Sophomore finally came, it was so much fun to spend the day dressed up in our costumes, and then have our seniors reveal themselves to us. The entire week leading up to Senior Sophomore is full of anticipation and excitement, and the tradition brings the senior and sophomore classes much closer together. Being able to have a connection with girls from every class at Dana is really important to the community, and Senior Sophomore makes it so fun!

Favorite Dana ASSIGNMENT

French Project

My favorite Dana Hall assignment was a French project where we had to create a new product, film and edit a TV advertisement for it, all in French. It was really cool to be able to be creative with designing a crazy product and editing the ad, while using everything we had learned in class to write a script.

Favorite Dana Class

Middle Eastern Studies

It's impossible for me to choose one favorite class at Dana, but one that I have really loved is Middle Eastern Studies. This course is so cool because we learn the history of monotheistic religions and the history of the Middle East from its creation up through modern times. My favorite part of the course has been the focus on current events, and everything we have learned has made me so much more aware of the world around us, and has gotten me really interested in following what is happening in all different regions around the world.

Favorite Dana Hall Activity

Blue Key

Most of my favorite things at Dana have been the extracurricular activities offered outside of class. I absolutely love being a part of the riding team, but something that has also become very important to me is Blue Key. This year, as a sophomore, I was chosen to be one of the co-heads of the club, and I have loved every aspect of it. The club is based around giving tours to prospective students, and helping out with other admissions events. It's so fun to meet new girls and tell them about all of the amazing opportunities here at Dana, and I'm so glad I get to be a part of it.

Favorite Place on Campus

Equestrian Center

My favorite place on campus is definitely the Equestrian Center. Since the beginning of freshman year, I have spent at least four afternoons per week interning at the stable or riding, as well as weekends running the IEA team horse shows. The riding program has been a huge part of my Dana experience, and I love being able to go visit my favorite horse at any time. Riding is my favorite thing to do and a huge stress-reliever, and having that at school is something that has made Dana really special to me.

Favorite Dana Hall Memory

All of them!

Every memory I have from Dana is my favorite. From jokes in class that make us laugh for 10 minutes straight, to the Harbor Cruise, to going to Virginia this fall with eight members of the riding team, there's never a dull moment. I've made so many friends and had so many experiences that I never would have had if it weren't for Dana, and I will never forget the amazing memories that I have made here.
