Girls learning, leading, succeeding
myDANA
Dana girls are curious, collaborative, respectful and enthusiastic. They are leaders: leaders of clubs, activities, sport teams and more. They are also aware of the many types of leadership, understanding that a supporting role is just as important as taking the lead. They know that Dana Hall is a place where they can be themselves and are encouraged to be who they want to be. See what they have to say about about their school.

FAVORITE DANA TRADITION

Harbor Cruise

My favorite Dana Hall tradition is the Harbor Cruise. The first week back at school, I love having a great time with all my friends who I haven't seen in a while on the Harbor Cruise. It is so much fun with the dancing, music and eating; and it is such a nice way to welcome in the new school year. I look forward to it as summer comes to an end every year.

Favorite Dana Assignment

Constitution & Bill of Rights' Music Videos

My favorite class project was the music videos we did in seventh grade for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I was in a group made up of people I didn't know at the time, and some of us became closer friends because of this project. The videos ended up being really funny, and we showed them to our parents and classmates on Parents’ Weekend.

Favorite Dana Class

Eighth Grade Social Studies

My favorite Dana Hall class has definitely been eighth grade Social Studies. We learned about so many different parts of the world. It really opened up my eyes to a lot of new things about the world's history, and I learned that we still have a really long way to go to make things right in our own country. My favorite county to learn about was South Africa because I never knew anything about it before, so all the information I was learning was totally new. I also found the history of South Africa really interesting, and I am looking forward to studying some more about the rest of Africa in African Studies next year!

My Favorite Dana Hall Activity

Rock Climbing and Music

My favorite extracurricular activity is a tie between rock climbing and music. When I first came to Dana, I tried rock climbing for the first time. At first it was really scary, but with the constant encouragement from my teacher, I learned a lot about climbing. I also learned that I am way more determined than I thought. Getting to the top of a route on the wall is so amazing. No matter how many times I do it, it is always rewarding, and that's what I like so much about it. I also enjoy playing music here. Music is my passion and I couldn't live with out it. Taking music lessons at the School of Music at Dana has helped me relieve my stress during the week, and I can do what I love most.

Favorite Place on Campus

Erisman Student Center

My favorite place on campus is the Erisman Student Center. Not only does it have my favorite thing – food – but it's also a great place to go and hang out with friends and do some work. It is also the place where I organized the first Dana Hall open mic night, and that was really cool. The Student Center is a great place to do activities that bring the community together, and that's why I love it so much.

Favorite Dana Hall Memory

Sixth Grade Year

My favorite Dana Hall memory is hard because there are so many. I think my sixth grade year as a whole has to be my favorite memory of all. Our class was really small and I never had experienced such a special bond at any school before. In sixth grade our whole class played tag throughout the entire Middle School when the eight graders and the seventh graders were away on trips. That will always be a very strong memory in my mind.
