Girls learning, leading, succeeding
myDANA
Dana girls are curious, collaborative, respectful and enthusiastic. They are leaders: leaders of clubs, activities, sport teams and more. They are also aware of the many types of leadership, understanding that a supporting role is just as important as taking the lead. They know that Dana Hall is a place where they can be themselves and are encouraged to be who they want to be. See what they have to say about about their school.

FAVORITE DANA TRADITION

Revels

Revels is my favorite Dana tradition; it is a great way to head into break. I have never been a part of any of the theater productions at Dana and I’ve never had an interest in acting, so when it was time to audition for Revels I was surprised when I auditioned for one of the biggest parts in the show and got it. It was a great experience and the tradition cake after the show is one of the best parts!

Favorite Dana Assignment

U.S. History Podcast

The podcast that we did in U.S. History was definitely my favorite project. We had to pick a historical event and make a 10-minute podcast about it with music, primary sources and our own script. At the beginning of the project, I had no idea how to use the Garage Band app, but by the time I handed it in I was surprised how well I knew it. I put so much time into the project and I was very happy with my final product.

Favorite Dana Class

Principles in Engineering Class

My Principles in Engineering class has been my favorite so far at Dana. I love the way the class is shaped by the students’ interests. My class was really interested in civil engineering so my teacher brought in women who work in that field to explain their work to us. Our MakersSpace below the classroom has been a great addition to the class. I love doing projects in that space and getting to use all of the new technology we have there.

My Favorite Dana Hall Activity

Basketball

I love playing basketball at Dana. Our team is really like a family, and we’ve grown so much over the three years I’ve been on the team. My freshman year I never would have thought that we would be able to win the EIL league, but this past winter we did! What makes the team so great is how we look out for each other on and off the court. My teammates are my biggest supporters and it’s always great when we get to welcome new members onto the team. I can’t wait to be captain next year.

Favorite Place on Campus

Library

My favorite place on campus is definitely the library. The librarians are so helpful and nice and it’s always one of the first places I go when I need help. It’s a great place to study and just relax. The study rooms are a great place to work on projects with friends or to meet with a tutor.

Favorite Dana Hall Memory

White Water Rafting on Class Retreat

My favorite Dana Hall memory is going white water rafting during the junior class retreat. The retreats are always a great way to catch up with friends after the summer, and white water rafting was definitely my favorite retreat so far. Junior year is stressful, but it always helps to think back to the splash fights we had going down the river in New Hampshire, and jumping in the water in our clothes to swim.
