Choral Music

If you want to sing out, sing out!
Dana Hall has choral ensembles at every level: sixth grade chorus, seventh and eighth grade chorus and Upper School Chorus are large groups that sing a wide variety of musical styles from classical to musical theater, to spirituals to contemporary popular music to music from different cultures.

Students who possess fine vocal abilities and are committed to high performance standards can audition for the Chamber Singers, who have performed all over the world. In 2012, the group claimed their first national championship at The Association of Boarding Schools’ A Cappella Singing Competition.

Aspiring songwriters can explore the world of creative songwriting and composition in the Songwriters’ Experience course. And even students who don’t have time to take a course for credit can be part of Dana Hall’s Gospel Choir, one of the largest clubs on campus.

"Performing in plays and musicals is something I never imagined myself doing before coming to Dana. It is definitely out of my comfort zone, and I have learned so much from my peers and from the talented and committed teachers. I have grown to love my moments on stage and really share my passion with everyone else."
