FAQs

List of 6 frequently asked questions.

  • How is my child placed in a class?

You, the parent/guardian, selects the class best for your child based on what is available in our online registration. Classes are set up based on age and swim level.
  • How do we know if class is canceled?

Dana Hall Aquatics Director Laura Rizzo will notify all parents of children in canceled classes via email.
  • Do adults need to swim with their child(ren)?

Unless otherwise specified, each child will be in the pool with his or her instructors. Parents and guardians do not participate.
  • Can I pay for the swim lesson at the first lesson?

Signing up for a swim lesson requires a deposit up front to reserve your child's spot. Once Dana Hall is able to confirm the class, an email will be sent out and all participants must then pay their tuition in full prior to their first lesson.
  • What is the make-up policy?

We offer make-up classes for any lessons canceled by Dana Hall. These classes are held the week after the session was scheduled to end on their normal day and time. If a participant misses a class due to being sick, Dana Hall cannot guarantee a make-up class, but Aquatic Staff will do our best to accommodate when we can.
  • Do you offer any lessons for older children/more experienced swimmers?

Yes! In the Fall and Spring Dana Hall offers a "Coached Lap Swim" program for children who are able to swim at least 25 yards of all four competitive strokes. This class helps participants to build endurance, refine their strokes, and even prep for a swim team. Children in this class are typically 7-12 years old. We allow a maximum of 12 students in this class at a time, and we utilize the entire pool.

"My favorite Dana Hall activity has been riding because the trainers at the Equestrian Center are really great and helpful. I always feel like I'm learning and improving while having fun."
