On April 8, student-athletes A. Ceppi ’17 and M. Wallis ’17 were named to the Boston Globe’s 2017 Preps All-Scholastics team.
Each year, a committee of coaches from the Independent School League (ISL), Eastern Independent League (EIL) and the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) come together to select the all-scholastic team members.
Basketball player A. Ceppi ’17 is a 1,000-point career scorer. Her honors include NEPSAC Class B All-Star and EIL Player of the Year. Next year, Ceppi will attend Bucknell University in Pennsylvania.
Swimmer M. Wallis ’17 is a two-time EIL MVP recipient and earned the Swimmer of the Meet Award at the 2016 NEPSAC Championships. Last summer, Wallis qualified for the 2016 Olympic Trials for the 100 backstroke. After graduation, Wallis will swim at the University of Georgia.
"I love playing basketball at Dana. Our team is really like a family, and we’ve grown so much over the three years I’ve been on the team. My freshman year I never would have thought that we would be able to win the EIL league, but this past winter we did! What makes the team so great is how we look out for each other on and off the court. My teammates are my biggest supporters and it’s always great when we get to welcome new members onto the team. I can’t wait to be captain next year."
