Cooking Together at Home

Calling all Upper School students and families! Family Weekend 2020 is going virtual this year and we need your help to make it fun from a distance. We hope that each family will consider contributing at least one recipe to Dana Hall’s 2020 Family Cookbook - Cooking Together at Home. The cookbook will feature favorite recipes that you enjoy with your family at home. Submit your favorites so your extended Dana Hall family can cook and enjoy your recipe wherever they are around the globe. The cookbook will be published online.
Submit your recipe by October 19 to be included in the cookbook.

Activity Page Instructions

  • Choose a Recipe. What’s your family’s favorite? Share it with Dana Hall so that other students and families can try it in their home. Appetizer, Baked Goods, Main Dishes, or Side Dishes ….. anything goes as long as it is delicious and special to your family.
  • Include the Details. Recipe name, ingredient list, and step-by-step instructions. Make sure to include the oven temperature and cooking time. We’ll include a conversion chart in the cookbook, so don’t worry if your recipe is in metric measurements.
  • Share Why This Recipe is Special to You. We want to know! Consider sharing with us in a sentence or two why this recipe is your favorite.

Submitting is Easy!

We will be accepting recipes in electronic format (.pdf preferred) through this Google Form. Simply fill in a few questions and submit your recipe quickly and easily. Don’t feel like typing in a recipe? Submit a photo of that well-loved recipe card, chocolate smudges and all.

Share Your Photos

Share how your family is getting into the spirit of Family Weekend 2020: tag Dana Hall School or DM us (on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter) or submit photos of you and your family in action. Submissions will be posted Dana Hall Family Weekend photo gallery.

Dragon’s Den Flash sale!

Our Dragons need to be decked out in the latest and greatest gear, so keep your eye out for a flash sale of merchandise during Family Weekend from Wednesday, October 28 to Wednesday, November 4. An email with a link to the website will be sent out the day the flash sale begins.

"My favorite class at Dana Hall (so far!) has been Middle Eastern Studies. It covers interesting material that helps me to better understand current events, and provides me a unique perspective when so much of formal history education is focused on the West. The class has helped me break stereotypes, and I now view the world differently."
